Job Description:
As an Office Engineer on the Hesperia Ranchero Road Corridor Widening project, you will be based out of our Hesperia, CA project field office. Be involved with our construction management team in solving contractor’s challenges. Also be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives.
The successful candidate will assist our Resident Engineer on project administration duties through monitoring of correspondence, RFI’s, submittals, and performance records. Assists in preparing monthly reporting for progress payments, schedule updates, and problem/issue tracking and resolution.
Responsibilities:
Write meeting minutes
Review/Approval of technical engineering submittals for compliance with plans / specifications
Help responding Request For Information (RFI) and/or clarifications
Coordinates with 3rd parties agencies and utility purveyors as necessary.
Perform/review field engineering calculations
Prepare monthly progress pay estimate. Maintains accurate payment records.
Assist on preparing contract change orders Review certified payroll
Periodic review of field work to verify compliance with plans / specifications
Review and update schedules and record drawings
Prepare marked up as-built drawings for contract compliance
Provide limited office management of a construction Management project
Perform constructability review of plans/specifications
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in civil engineering or construction management field from an accredited institution
Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
Prefers a minimum one or two+ years design and construction engineering experience preferred.
Project controls techniques (i.e. cost accounting, basic estimating, forecasting, contracts).
A strong working knowledge of critical path method, resource scheduling is preferred.
AutoCAD experience is highly desirable.
Working knowledge and experience with Primavera P6 is a plus.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
Strong work ethic - Highly motivated and willing to do what it takes to get the job done right.
The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
