ALEJANDRO TORRES

President

Alejandro is a fourth-year civil engineering student serving as the CPP ASCE Student Chapter President this year. He previously served as the 2025 Pacific Southwest Symposium Director and as a First-Year Representative. After the success of hosting the Pacific Southwest Symposium, Alejandro looks forward to keeping the momentum going and creating a successful year for the Student Chapter. He currently interns at the Riverside County Transportation Department as part of the Project Development team, helping to create plans for various roadway projects. During his free time, Alejandro enjoys going to the movie theater, spending time with his friends/family, and building LEGO.

AARON CHIONG

Treasurer

Aaron is a fourth-year civil engineering student serving as the Treasurer for Cal Poly Pomona’s ASCE student chapter. He has previously served as the treasurer for the 2025 ASCE Pacific Southwest Symposium Board and is excited to continue contributing to ASCE’s growing community. Aaron also plans to continue his involvement with the Timber Strong Design-Build structural calculations team. He is currently an intern project engineer at Swinerton Builders, working on the OCVIBE Parking Structure and Central Utility Plant projects in Anaheim. In his free time, Aaron spends hours at the rock climbing gym, plays with his cats, and learns to cook.

LAURYN TERAMOTO

Vice President, Internal

Lauryn is a third-year General Civil Engineering student, and will be serving as the 2025-2026 Cal Poly Pomona ASCE Vice President Internal. Prior to taking her current position, Lauryn previously served as PSWS Logistics Coordinator and Conference Chair. She looks forward to continuing her involvement with ASCE, and growing closer with the new board! Lauryn will also be involved with the Timber Strong Design Build team as the BIM Leader. She is currently an Engineering Intern at HNTB, working in multiple divisions of the Brightline West project. In her free time, Lauryn likes reading, sculpting, and cafe hopping. More recently, she has been gaining interest in Star Wars and is slowly making her way through Clone Wars!

JANINE CABRAL

Secretary

Janine Cabral is a fourth-year Civil Engineering student serving as the 2025-2026 Secretary. This is her second year being involved in ASCE and has gained many valuable skills through her time involved in the student chapter. She hopes to connect with fellow students and industry professionals to create lasting relationships through supporting the student chapter and all its events! In her free time, she has many relaxing hobbies like reading, crocheting, and binging shows or movies.

MATTHEW MCGRODY

Vice President, External

Matthew is a fourth-year civil engineering student with an emphasis in general civil engineering. This year he will be serving as Vice President, External, and he is looking forward to planning fun and informative general meetings as well as tech talks/tech tours. He is looking forward to continuing to gain leadership experience and communication skills, using his experience planning events like PSWS and the CE Department Banquet previous years. Matthew interned at Granite Construction during summer and is hoping to gain more hands-on experience in the civil engineering field. During his free time, he enjoys playing sports, and video games, as well as watching shows/movies. Additionally, he likes teaching as he is a tutor for students of all ages.

TYLER ANDO

Director of Technical Competitions

Tyler is a fourth-year civil engineering student with an emphasis on environmental engineering. This is his first year serving as a CPP ASCE officer, and he is excited to take on the new position as Director of Technical Projects. For PSWS 2026, he is dedicated to supporting the success of the CPP ASCE competition teams. Throughout his time at CPP, Tyler has served as Secretary and President of the California Water Environment Association - American Water Works Association (CWEA-AWWA) student chapter, as well as a member of the Construction Team and Water Quality Lead for the PSWS Environmental Design Team. When Tyler is not busy with school, he enjoys listening to music, catching up on shows and movies, and going on hikes.

JENNY NGUYEN

Director of Corporate Relations

Jenny is a fourth-year civil engineering student at Cal Poly Pomona and is excited to serve as the 2025–2026 Director of Corporate Relations for CPP ASCE. This is her first year as an officer for CPP ASCE and her first time holding a leadership position in a student organization. She is passionate about bridging the gap between students and industry professionals, and looks forward to supporting the board in organizing corporate events and career development opportunities. This summer, she will be interning at DRC Engineering, where she will be learning about land development. Long-term, Jenny hopes to pursue a career in civil engineering that allows her to make a meaningful environmental impact. Outside of school and work, Jenny enjoys spending time outdoors, rock climbing, and solving puzzles for fun.

JEDRIC UGANIZA

Alumni Relations Chair

Jedric is a third-year civil engineering student who is currently an Alumni Relations Chair of CPP ASCE. He previously served as one of the Outreach and Community Service Chairs. This year, he is also serving as the Vice President of SEACPP and is hoping to learn more about the structural industry through that experience. For ASCE, he plans to give students a stronger experience in civil engineering by giving them an opportunity to meet and learn from alumni. He loves to spend his time playing sports, traveling, and eating lots of different food.

NORA MARTINEZ

Conference Chair

Nora Martinez is a second year general civil engineering student and one of this year's Outreach & Community Service Officers. Additionally, she is serving as the Secretary for this year’s Concrete Canoe team. Previously, she was an ASCE’s first-year representative (2023-2024) and a member of the PSWS Environmental Design construction team. Nora is excited about the endless possibilities the engineering field offers and looks forward to planning engaging community and outreach events for the upcoming school year. In her spare time, she enjoys listening to music, watching films, visiting amusement parks, and cherishing quality moments with her loved ones.

JACELYN DILAY

Social Events Chair

Jacelyn is a third-year general Civil Engineering student serving as one of the CPP ASCE Student Chapter Social Events Chairs for the 2024-2025 academic year. She was previously Publicity Chair for CPP ASCE, as well as the 2025 Pacific Southwest Symposium (PSWS), displaying her passion for promoting ASCE’s initiatives as well as fostering meaningful connections within the civil engineering community. She is committed to staying involved with ASCE throughout her college career, aspiring to make an impact on the community. Currently, Jacelyn is interested in transportation and wishes to pursue a career within that field after college. Beyond her academic and professional pursuits, Jacelyn enjoys baking, shopping, watching basketball, and exploring different matcha flavors.

JOSHUA LEE

Outreach & Community Service Chair

Joshua is a third-year general Civil Engineering student serving as one of the CPP ASCE Student Chapter’s Outreach & Community Service Officers this year. This is his first year as an ASCE officer after wanting to become more involved in Civil Engineering clubs and competitions. Joshua is especially excited to serve as one of the Outreach & Community Service Officers to combine his passion for community service with his career path. Committing himself to ASCE, he also wishes to grow personally to greatly promote his passion for Civil Engineering to future students and to build meaningful connections with other members and professionals through CPP ASCE’s Student Chapter. In his free time, Joshua enjoys spending time with friends, taking care of his cat, cooking and eating different foods.

DECLAN HAMBLY

Alumni Relations Chair

Declan is a second year Civil Engineering student and is of of this year’s Alumni-Relations Chairs. After joining ASCE and serving as a First Year Representative, he gained valuable experience and is excited to continue his involvement with ASCE at Cal Poly Pomona. Declan looks forward to being able to connect more with his peers on campus through ASCE, and networking with professionals to learn more about the industry and opportunities for students to learn and gain experience in the field. As an Alumni Relations Chair, he aims to better connect students with alumni to help push students further in their education and work experience. In his free time, Declan enjoys reading, playing guitar, and going to concerts.

TIMOTHY HOANG

Professional Events Chair

Timothy is a third-year Civil Engineering student serving as one of the CPP ASCE Professional Events Chair for the 2025-2026 academic year. He previously served as the Banquet & Catering Coordinator for the 2025 ASCE Pacific Southwest Symposium, where he developed a strong interest in event planning and professional development. He is excited to continue organizing events that connect students with industry professionals. Timothy will also serve as one of the Corporate Relations Chairs for Chi Epsilon, where he aims to help host a successful career fair for the civil engineering student body. In his free time, Timothy enjoys working out, spending time with friends and family, and cooking.

RUBEN RIVERA

Social Events Chair

Ruben is a third-year Civil Engineering student currently serving as one of the CPP ASCE Student Chapter Social Events Chairs for the 2024–2025 academic year. He is also involved with the 2025 Pacific Southwest Symposium (PSWS) as a Social Events Chair, where he contributes to planning engaging events that strengthen connections among civil engineering students from across the region. Through his leadership roles, Ruben has developed a strong appreciation for collaboration, community building, and active involvement within ASCE. He is motivated to remain engaged with the organization throughout his academic journey and hopes to make a lasting, positive impact on the civil engineering community. Academically, Ruben is interested in pursuing a career in civil engineering after graduation. Outside of his academic and professional commitments, Ruben enjoys playing basketball, hiking, playing Minecraft, Terraria, and Pokemon, and hanging out with his friends.

GAVIN ABAIGAR

Outreach & Community Service Chair

Gavin is an incoming fourth-year Civil Engineering student serving as this year’s Outreach and Community Service Chair for the ASCE CPP Student Chapter. His involvement as a general member sparked a deeper interest in the field and helped him secure a Summer Associate position at Atkinson Construction, a subsidiary of Clark Group. There, he’s gained hands-on experience in quantity takeoffs, bid outreach, and plan analysis on multi-million dollar infrastructure projects including Brightline West & 91/57 Acacia. He looks forward to bringing this growing industry perspective into his role and contributing to impactful outreach efforts within the local community. Outside of engineering, he enjoys weightlifting, music festivals, and spending time outdoors.

First Year Representative

Aryamaan Bhattacharya is a first-year civil engineering student at Cal Poly Pomona and currently serves as a First Year Representative for CPP ASCE. He is currently conducting research on sustainable pile design and is a part of the PSWS GeoWall team.

YU QI ZENG

Conference Chair

Yu Qi is a third-year Civil Engineering student and one of this year’s Conference Chairs. After serving as the Membership Chair last year, she gained valuable experience and is excited to continue her involvement with the club. This year, Yu Qi looks forward to building new friendships with fellow officers and club members while contributing to another successful year. As Conference Chair, she aims to serve as a strong liaison between the host school and the student chapter, and she hopes to inspire fellow members to get involved and look forward to the opportunities at PSWS 2026. Outside of her academic and leadership roles, Yu Qi enjoys baking, solving puzzles, and catching up on her favorite movies and shows.

LYNETTE SIRAKIE

Professional Events Chair

Lynette is a fourth-year Civil Engineering student and will be serving as a CPP ASCE Professional Events Chair for the 2025-2026 academic year. She is a transfer student from Glendale Community College, and was a First Year Representative on the CPP ASCE board during the 2024-2025 academic year. Lynette looks forward to serving on the officer board once again, and connecting with more of her peers on campus. As a Professional Events Chair, Lynette is looking forward to organizing events with industry professionals, and assisting in the professional development of the Civil Engineering student body. In her free time, Lynette enjoys reading, honing her archery skills, and discovering new movies and shows.

ELEEN GREGORYONA

Membership Chair

Eleen is a third-year general civil engineering student serving as the CPP Membership Chair for this year with career aspirations in planning ergonomic cities and advancing sustainable infrastructure. She previously served as the Club Representative for LA Pierce College’s Engineering Club and is eager to now start her journey at CPP. She has interned for two locations and undergone research for another: Kitchell (under BuildLACCD), to help with the development of various building projects across the LA Community College District; Inframark, to learn the process and assist with the maintenance of water treatment plant infrastructure; CSUN SFS2, under Shawn Sun, for his “Comparative Study of Precast Pretensioned and Post-Tensioned Concrete Girders for Highway Bridges.” As a way to unwind, Eleen spends time in nature, hangs out with her friends/family, visits theme parks (especially for the roller coasters), or chills out as she does research for any topic that interests her at the moment.

JACKSON FAJARDO

Publicity Chair

Jackson Fajardo is a second-year civil engineering student at Cal Poly Pomona and currently serves as a Publicity Chair for CPP ASCE. Jackson previously served on the ASCE Officer Board as one of the First Year Representatives and greatly appreciated his time in that position. He is passionate about using creative outreach—through events and social media—to strengthen member engagement across ASCE clubs. Eager to grow both professionally and personally, Jackson is focused on building his network and honing the skills essential for a future in civil engineering. Outside of academics, he enjoys spending time with loved ones, golfing, watching football, exploring new foods, and relaxing with music, movies, and beach visits.

Steel Bridge Project Manager

Jack is a fourth-year general civil engineering student serving as this year’s CPP Steel Bridge Project Manager.  He previously served as the Chief Strategy Officer and Construction Captain for CPP Steel bridge and President of CPP ASCE.  Jack is excited to continue CPP Steel Bridge’s legacy of success and working diligently to provide student members with countless opportunities to learn and compete.  When he is not busy with school, clubs, or work, Jack enjoys spending his free time skiing, backpacking, exploring, camping, or watching Formula 1.

Concrete Canoe Project Manager

Hannah is a fourth-year civil engineering student serving as the 2025-2026 CPP Concrete Canoe Co-Project Manager. Since her transfer from Sierra College last fall, she has been an active member of ASCE, MEP-WiSE, and Concrete Canoe and joined the paddling team. She is excited to work alongside her amazing officer team to provide members with a sense of community, opportunities for growth, and to be a part of the Concrete Canoe legacy. In her free time, Hannah enjoys cooking, working out, playing pool and board games, thrifting, and spending time with family and friends

Concrete Canoe Project Manager

Jose is a fifth-year general civil engineering student and is currently co-project manager of CPP Concrete Canoe. He was previously the construction captain for CPP Concrete Canoe. Jose is determined to work tirelessly to provide members with an enjoyable and knowledgeable experience as they strive for success. When not busy, he enjoys playing board games, watching football, and spending time with family.

Bryan is a fourth-year general civil engineering student serving as this years CPP Timber Strong Co-Project Manager. Bryan is excited to grow and leave a lasting impact for the Timber Strong team. Bryan will also be Marshal for Chi-Epsilon hoping to bring the civil engineering clubs closer to one another. When he is not busy Bryan enjoys fishing, spending time with friends, working out and wood working.
