The Department of Civil Engineering at Cal Poly Pomona is a leader in polytechnic education, where hands-on learn-by-doing is the foundation of a broad-based educational experience. The department has one of the largest undergraduate civil engineering programs in the United States and produces approximately 15 percent of civil engineers in California. The civil engineering department offers a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with options in general civil, environmental, and geospatial engineering, a Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering and Management, and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering with options in structures, geotechnical, transportation, environmental and water resources, and construction engineering.​

 

An important event for the department is the Annual CPP CE Alumni Golf Tournament founded by professor Emeritus Donald G. Wells, PE, MS. Affectionately known as “Water Wells”, he was a leader in the environmental and water resources group within the Cal Poly Pomona Civil Engineering Department. Wells was actively engaged in student extracurricular activities and served for many years as the faculty advisor for the CPP ASCE Student Chapter. This event supports our fundraising efforts to continue creating ongoing opportunities for student development.
