McNair Scholars Program is Now Recruiting

Greetings! Are you interested in a research internship? Do you plan to go to graduate school? Do you want to earn a PhD? If you answered yes to any of these questions, the McNair Scholars Program can help you reach your goal. The McNair Scholars Program helps low-income and first-generation students or underrepresented students prepare for graduate school. Scholars work with a faculty mentor, do research, and learn the ins and outs of applying to graduate school. You are eligible for the program if you are: · A low-income (please refer to eligibility chart on website) AND first-generation college student (parents have not received a BA degree or equivalent); · Or underrepresented (African American, Chicano/Latino, or Native American); · Must have completed at least 75 quarter units or 50 semester units by the time you apply; · Have a GPA of 3.0 or higher (Strong applications with below a 3.0 GPA will also be considered) How to apply for the program:

  • Visit the program website at www.cpp.edu/~mcnair/ to read FAQ and information on the application process.


  • Complete and submit the eligibility form online (application available now). The eligibility form and supporting documents are due no later than January 31, 2023. We recommend submitting the eligibility form earlier to provide more time to complete the application.

  • Once your eligibility has been established, you will be given an application. Full applications are due no later than February 28, 2023.
